Parent engagement
At Preston Candover CE Primary School, we value the contribution our parents make to our school and to the education of our learners. We have several ways of engaging with you as parents and involving you in the school community:
- Two annual face-to-face learning consultations with parents
- Start of year face-to-face class drop-in session to meet the teachers
- One full annual pupil report
- New parent meetings with the Headteacher
- Transition meetings for new parents and transfers
- Regular Headteacher updates on school life in whole school newsletters
- Termly curriculum outcomes newsletters
- Start of each term class curriculum newsletters from teachers
- Sports newsletters and updates
- School website information
- Letters about events and updates
- T to P emails to parents (due to poor mobile coverage in the valley email is reliable)
- Availability for meetings with parents, teachers, Headteacher and Inclusion leader for SEN/additional needs
- Available to contact via home school communication books, telephone and/or email
- Parent governors
- PCSA AGM, meetings and events
- Parent workshops e.g. Reading
- Class celebrations of learning
- Exhibitions e.g. Art
- Invitations to Arts events, theatre, music events to watch the pupils perform e.g. The Grange Festival, The Anvil, The Royal Albert Hall, The O2
- Parent volunteers (e.g. reading, trips, maths)
- Parent surveys and questionnaires
